East of Eden Landscaping began in 1976 in the coal fields of Eastern Kentucky during the coal boom. The early days were spent landscaping in the Spring and Fall, while fostering an education during the winter and summer. Randall Bond, the owner, has maintained his business by working with notable individuals such as, Claude Canada (Canada Coal-383 on Fortune 500, 1978), Paul Patton (Chapparal Coal Company and Governor of Kentucky), Homer Short (Paintsville, Kentucky-462 on Fortune 500, 1982), Jack Fairchild (Beckley, West Virginia-420 on Fortune 500, 1980), and Thomas Frist (Owner HCA, Fortune 500, 2014 Nashville).

He has designed and landscaped for numerous successful businessmen such as, Dan Davis-owner and creator of Rafferty's chain of restaurants, Jim Chandler-owner and creator of the Sportsman's Lodge and The Gerst House in Nashville, TN, Vince Patel-owner of Platinum Enterprises concerning hotel interests, Millard Oakley-owner of First National Bank in the Upper Cumberlands, and many other great people throughout East of Eden's 38 year business.
